Sari Rasheed schloss im Jahr 2016 sein Studium an der Amerikanischen Universität Beirut (AUB) mit dem Master of Science in Mikrobiologie und Immunologie ab. Sein Forschungsprojekt „Die Wirkung von Micafungin und antibakteriellen Wirkstoffen auf die Bildung von Pseudomonas aeruginosa Biofilmen in BALB/c Mäusen“ wurde sowohl auf der ASM Microbe 2017 in New Orleans (USA) als auch auf dem 19. Jahreskongress der Libanesischen Organisation für Infektionskrankheiten und klinische Mikrobiologie der Lebanese Society for Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology (LSIDCM) in Beirut präsentiert.
Im Jahr 2017 trat er seine Doktorandenstelle in der HIPS-Abteilung Mikrobielle Naturstoffe an. Sein Forschungsschwerpunkt liegt auf Untersuchungen der Target-Identifizierung und Wirkungsweise bei neuartigen mikrobiellen Naturstoffen. Derzeit arbeitet Sari an einem in vivo-Zebrafisch-Modell, um am HIPS entwickelte Wirkstoffe im Frühstadium zu untersuchen sowie zu charakterisieren. Der Fokus liegt hierbei auf Tuberkulose-Modellen unter Verwendung von Mycobacterium marinum.
