Dr. Nicole Schneider-Daum

Über

Nicole Schneider-Daum studierte Lebensmittelchemie an der Universität Kaiserslautern. Nach Forschungsaufenthalten an der Universität von Campinas (Unicamp, Brasilien) und der Universität Murcia (Spanien) she graduated in 2000. Im Anschluss an ihre Promotion am Deutschen Krebsforschungszentrum (DKFZ) in Heidelberg arbeitete sie ab 2004 als Postdoc im Institut für Biopharmazie und Pharmazeutische Technologie (Universität des Saarlandes) an der Interaktion von Nanopartikeln mit biologischen Barrieren.
Seit  2010 ist Nicole Schneider-Daum Wissenschaftlerin in der Abteilung “Drug Delivery” (DDEL) des HIPS und beschäftigt sich mit der Etablierung komplexer, krankheitsrelevanter in vitro Modelle des Respirationstraktes. Solche Modelle dienen nicht nur der Evaluierung neuartiger Antiinfektiva und entsprechender Drug Delivery Systeme, sondern auch der Entwicklung von Alternativen zu Tierversuchen.

Nicole Schneider-Daum ist Sicherheitsbeauftragte und Beauftragte für Biologische Sicherheit der Abteilung „Drug Delivery“ und Mitglied des HZI-Mediatorenteams.
