Leonie Quillmann

About

Leonie Quillmann (née Berger) studied biotechnology and biopharmaceutical technology at the technical University of Applied sciences Mittelhessen in Giessen. She successfully completed her bachelor’s degree in 2020. She did her master’s degree in biotechnology with a specialization in bioprocess engineering at the TU Braunschweig. During her thesis at the HZI in the research group of Microbial Drugs under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Marc Stadler, she investigated a new process strategy for the production of natural products from myxobacteria. After completing her master’s degree in 2023, she continued to work as a research assistant.

Since August 2025, Leonie Quillmann has been a doctoral candidate under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rolf Müller at MINS and MWIS groups. Her research focuses on process optimization for the production of natural products in their natural and genetically modified producers. The main focus of her work is toinvestigate the influence of various media components as well as critical process parameters.
