Yunpeng Ji studied Chemical Engineering and Technology at the Beijing Institute of Technology and received his Master’s degree in 2019, focusing on organic chemistry and pharmaceutical chemistry. From 2019 to 2022, he pursued his PhD in Chemical Biology under the supervision of Prof. Houhua Li at Peking University, specializing in the total synthesis of bioactive natural products. Between 2022 and 2025, he conducted postdoctoral research in the same group, focusing on total synthesis and chemo-enzymatic synthesis of natural products.

Since April 2026, Yunpeng has been working as a postdoctoral researcher at HIPS in the group of Prof. Tobias A. M. Gulder, with research interests in enzyme catalysis, chemo-enzymatic synthesis, and natural product biosynthesis.
