Charlotte Struse
About
Charlotte Struse studied biology at Justus Liebig University in Giessen from 2019 to 2021. She then transferred to Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen to pursue her master’s degree. She completed her master’s thesis in Prof. Friedrich Götz’s microbial genetics research group, graduating in December 2024. Afterward, Charlotte worked for one year at BioNTech SE, where she was employed in quality control in the field of microbiology.
Since June 2026, she has been pursuing her Ph.D. in the Microbial Natural Products research group led by Prof. Rolf Müller at HIPS. Her research focuses on the investigation and identification of natural products produced by microorganisms of the skin microbiome that have a positive impact on skin health. The research is based on an extensive dataset from HIPS and Saarland University, in collaboration with Beiersdorf AG.
