Shabari Girish completed his Master of Science in Biotechnology from RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau, Germany. His Master’s thesis was a collaborative project conducted at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) and the Leibniz Institute DSMZ in Braunschweig, where he worked on the isolation and characterization of bioactive natural products from fungi and actinobacteria derived from extreme environments.

In May 2026, he joined the group of Prof. Christine Beemelmanns at HIPS as a PhD student. His research focuses on the metabolomic and activity-based analysis of polymer-encapsulated microorganisms.
