Naresh Loganathan
About
Naresh completed his M.Sc. in Medical Bioinformatics at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research in August 2023. From November 2023 to February 2024, he worked as an Intern at Medlish Communications. He was subsequently employed as a Bioinformatician at Genome Foundation from May 2024 to October 2025. Since 2026, he began pursuing his PhD under the supervision of Andreas Keller at the Chair for Clinical Bioinformatics.
His research focuses on the bioinformatic analysis of the human skin microbiome, with a particular emphasis on identifying biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs) and their natural products in the context of skin health. He is involved in a collaborative project between HIPS and Beiersdorf AG investigating microbiota-derived molecules using metagenomic approaches, as well as the consortium project examining organ cross talk of human microbiota across gut, oral, and nasal body sites.
