My research includes the in-silico analysis of cryptic biosynthetic pathways encoded in genomes of marine Proteobacteria with a particular focus on pathways coding for the production of metal-binding natural products. Biosynthetic enzymes of interest are subjected to heterologous production to evaluate their substrate scope and product spectrum.
