Manyu Huang

About

Manyu Huang studied Bioengineering and Medicine under a joint training program between Hubei University and the Shenzhen Institute of Synthetic Biology, CAS, obtaining her Master of Science degree in 2025. During her master's research in Shenzhen, her work focused on synthetic biology, including the development of fluorescence imaging methods to study protein-protein interactions and the in vitro reconstruction of synthetic cellular components. Through these research projects, she also worked closely on enzymology-related topics and developed a strong academic interest in synthetic biology and protein directed evolution. She is experienced in standard methods such as molecular cloning, protein purification, and cell imaging. Since 2026, Manyu has been a PhD candidate at Saarland University and the Helmholtz Institute for Pharmaceutical Research Saarland (HIPS) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Tobias Gulder. Her doctoral research addresses the application and evolution of furanolide biosynthetic enzymes for the chemo-enzymatic synthesis of bioactive compounds.
