Dr Susanne Kirsch-Dahmen

About

Susanne Kirsch-Dahmen studied biology at Saarland University in Saarbrücken. She completed her diploma thesis at the Department of Dermatology at Saarland University Hospital in Homburg/Saar. She then worked for five years as a research associate in the integrated EU project „CellPROM (Cell Programming by Nanoscaled Devices)” at the Institute for Experimental Physics at Saarland University. In 2013, she obtained her doctorate from the Department of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine at Saarland University Hospital. The topic of the thesis was the study of folate and B vitamin status in the elderly using UPLC-MS/MS.

In May 2019, Susanne Kirsch-Dahmen joined the Department of Microbial Natural Products at HIPS as a postdoctoral researcher. Here she is jointly responsible for the coordination of the cooperation projects „GARDP” (Global Antibiotic Research and Development Partnership) and „ChloroClinaria” (Optimization of Chlorotonils for Pre-Clinical Assessment as Potent Novel Antibacterial Agents Active Against Multidrug-Resistant Pathogens). Other research areas include ADME/PK Screening, the Natural Product Library, and the Zebrafish Facility. She is responsible for the triple quad EVOQ LC-TQ mass spectrometer.
