Qiyao Shen studied biological science from 2009-2013 at Hunan Agricultural University in China. She obtained her master degree in microbiology from the Shandong University of China in 2016. In 2021, she received her PhD degree of Science in marine biotechnology from the Shandong University. Currently, she is sponsored by the CSC-DAAD Postdoc Scholarship Program and starts new research career as a Postdoc at the HIPS under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rolf Müller. She mainly focuses on the genome mining and biosynthesis of microbial natural products from Actinomyces and Myxobacteria.
