Charlotte Marie Edelmann studied pharmacy at Saarland University from 2020 to 2025 and received her licensure as a pharmacist (Approbation) in 2026. During her studies, she worked for two years at Ursapharm in GMP Compliance (Production and Engineering). Since June 2026, Charlotte has been pursuing her Ph.D. in the Microbial Natural Products research group led by Prof. Rolf Müller at HIPS.
Her research focuses on the discovery of new natural products from microbiota relevant to neurodegenerative diseases, using myxobacteria as a model system to apply genome mining and heterologous expression methods to host-associated microorganisms.
