Dr Susanne Kirsch-Dahmen

About

Susanne Kirsch-Dahmen studied biology at Saarland University in Saarbrücken. She completed her diploma thesis at the Department of Dermatology at Saarland University Hospital in Homburg/Saar. She then worked for five years as a research associate in the integrated EU project „CellPROM (Cell Programming by Nanoscaled Devices)” at the Institute for Experimental Physics at Saarland University. In 2013, she obtained her doctorate from the Department of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine at Saarland University Hospital. The topic of the thesis was the study of folate and B vitamin status in the elderly using UPLC-MS/MS.

After a PostDoc position in the Department of Microbial Natural Products at the Helmholtz Institute for Pharmaceutical Research Saarland (HIPS), she has been working as a scientific assistant to the management. She is responsible for project management of various HIPS projects. Since 2021, she is project manager of the TTU "Novel Antibiotics" at the German Center for Infection Research (DZIF).
