Sören Klein
About
Soeren Klein studied chemistry at Saarland University. After completing his bachelor's thesis (Development of synthetic strategies for 3-arylindoles), he began his master's studies in Saarbrücken, specializing in organic and pharmaceutical chemistry. As part of his master's thesis, he worked on the development and optimization of synthetic approaches to propargylboronic acid esters and their application in further reactions. He completed his master’s degree in 2024 and began his doctoral studies a year later in Prof. Martin Empting's “Anti-Infective Drug Discovery” research group. His research focuses on the synthesis and optimization of new drug candidates for the novel anti-tumor and diabetes target IMP2, as well as the synthesis and optimization of antiviral agents against RSV.
