Shurong Tian completed her Master’s degree at Sun Yat-sen University, focusing on the genomics-guided discovery and biosynthesis of fungal aromatic polyketides. In November 2024, she started her PhD at the Technical University of Dresden under the supervision of Prof. Tobias Gulder. Since July 2025, she has been continuing her PhD research at the Department of Natural Product Biotechnology at HIPS. Her work focuses on the discovery and biosynthesis of novel furanolides and on elucidating the catalytic mechanisms of the enzymes involved.
