Mayukh Bhattacharyya
About
Mayukh completed his bachelor's degree in Microbiology from St. Xavier's College, Kolkata, India, in 2021, where he investigated the antimicrobial activity of novel synthetic compounds. He then pursued a Master's degree in Evolutionary Biology at LMU Munich, focusing on microbiome dynamics in naturally isolated strains and phenotyping microbial experimental evolution.
In 2025, he joined the research group of Prof. Rolf Müller for his doctoral studies. His current research aims to establish zebrafish as a technology platform for assessing both the therapeutic and the pharmacological properties of antibiotic-releasing living materials (LTMs). This includes evaluating the efficacy of LTM-produced antibiotics, as well as potential effects on the microbiome, toxicity, immune response, and drug metabolism.
