Dr. Xiaoqi Ji

About

Xiaoqi Ji studied biochemistry with a focus on the biosynthesis of marine-derived natural product and received his Master’s degree in 2020 from the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Supported by scholarships from the China Scholarship Council (CSC), he began his doctoral studies in 2021 in the group of Prof. Tobias A. M. Gulder (Technical Biochemistry) at the Technical University of Dresden, where he submitted his doctoral thesis on the biosynthesis and chemo-enzymatic synthesis of furanolide natural products.
Since February 2026, Xiaoqi has been working as a postdoctoral researcher at HIPS in the group of Prof. Tobias A. M. Gulder. His research focuses on enzyme catalysis, natural product biosynthesis, and sustainable strategies for drug discovery.
