Dr. Charlotte O’Donnell obtained her Master’s degree in Medicinal and Biological Chemistry from the University of Edinburgh (UK).
She then undertook her doctoral studies in the Stark Group at the University of Hamburg, during which she synthesised the indole alkaloid aspidospermidine via an enantioselective allylic substitution strategy.
In June 2025, she joined the Hirsch Group at the HIPS as a postdoctoral researcher., where she is working on the synthesis of novel anti-infectives and the application of protein-templated techniques in drug discovery.
