Ahmed Amin
About
Ahmed Amin studied chemistry and microbiology at Alexandria University, Egypt, before moving to Taiwan to earn his MSc in chemistry and materials science from National Central University. Following a brief period in industry, he began his doctoral research in January 2022 at the Helmholtz Institute for Pharmaceutical Research Saarland (HIPS) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Anna K. H. Hirsch. His PhD focused on the Design, Synthesis, and Development of Novel Anti-infective Agents Targeting DnaN and LasB, which included the development of an FP assay for DnaN and an AI tool for predicting physicochemical properties. Having successfully submitted his doctoral thesis, he is now a Scientist in the group of Prof. Dr. Rolf Müller at HIPS, where he continues his work in the field of anti-infective agent discovery.
