Qiuyu Zhu graduated with a BSc in Chemistry at Qingdao University of Science and Technology in China. Afterwards, she studied glycochemistry in her master at Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. In her master thesis with Prof. Dr. Biao Yu, she developed a new catalytic activation system for the glycosylation with glycosyl fluorides as donors and investigated the reaction mechanism. In 2023, she joined the Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry group of Prof. Dr. Alexander Titz at Saarland University and the research group Chemical Biology of Carbohydrates as a PhD student. Her project is focused on the synthesis of new carbohydrate-based antivirals and array development.
