Yuhao Ren got his B.Sc. in Chinese Meteria Medica from Shenyang Pharmaceutical University, China in 2014. After that, he joined Prof. Jianmin Yue’s group at the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica (SIMM), Chinese Academy of Sciences, and worked on the discovery of bioactive natural products with novel structures from medicinal plants. He obtained his PhD in medicinal chemistry in 2019 and then continued his research as a Research Assistant at SIMM. In February 2022, he moved to Saarbrücken to join Prof. Dr. Müller’s group as a postdoctoral researcher sponsored by the China and Germany Postdoctoral Exchange Program. Currently, his research focuses on the discovery of novel antibiotics via the self-resistance-guided genome mining strategy.
