About

Roman Reberšek completed his Master's degree in Microbiology at the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. During his studies, his research and thesis centered around industrial research-driven manipulation of Streptomyces bacteria, with a particular focus on developing and exploring innovative CRISPR tools for engineering. As part of his work in Ljubljana, he helped develop a screening tool enabling identification of CRISPR – escaper colonies in S. rimosus background.

In 2022 he joined the group of Prof. Rolf Müller, where he works on fermentation optimization, genetic engineering and discovery of novel bioactive secondary metabolites.
