Monisha Krishnan completed her Master of Science in Microbiology from Bharathiar University, India. Her master’s thesis was on the molecular characterisation of carbapenem-resistant enterobacteria from patients at PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research. She then completed a research internship at the Cancer Therapeutics Laboratory, Department of Microbial Biotechnology, Bharathiar University. She moved to Germany in December 2023 to pursue her PhD research work at HIPS.

Her research focuses on characterising novel natural products from microbiota.
