Laxmi Neupane studied Microbiology in Pinnacle Academy, Nepal and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in 2014. Afterward, she completed her master’s in medical microbiology in 2019 from Central department of Microbiology, Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal.

She joined HIPS in October 2021 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rolf Müller. Neupane’s PhD project aims to isolation and characterization of myxobacteria from unexplored habitat as source of new anti-infectives. Her research focuses on isolating new myxobacteria, screening them with various media and cultivation condition for detection of secondary metabolites.
