Lana Vianey

About

Lana Vianey studied microbiology and molecular biology at Aix-Marseille University in Marseille, where she conducted research on antimicrobial peptides for her bachelor's thesis at the Institute of Molecular Sciences of Marseille. In 2021, she moved to the Sorbonne University in Paris and completed her master's degree in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, specializing in microbiology related to the environment and health. During the first year of her master's, she also contributed to research on antimicrobial peptides at the Communication Molecules and Adaptation of Microorganisms Laboratory, at the National Museum of Natural History in Paris. Her master's thesis was conducted at the Laboratory of Microbial Biodiversity and Biotechnology in Banyuls-sur-Mer with Prof. Marcelino Suzuki, focusing on the discovery of new bioactive compounds from marine bacterial strains using culturing, genomics, and metabolomics methods.

Lana joined the HIPS in November 2023 to pursue her studies as a PhD student. She is currently working antifungal lanthipeptides.
