Patrick Haack


Patrick Haack studied biopharmaceutical science at Provadis University of Applied Sciences, Frankfurt, and biotechnology at Saarland University, Saarbrücken. In 2016, he received his master’s degree in biotechnology from Saarland University and started his work as a PhD student at the HIPS-department Microbial Natural Products.

Patrick Haack seeks to identify novel secondary metabolites from myxobacteria and characterize their biosynthesis. This work includes the genetic manipulation of myxobacterial strains as well as the mass spectrometric analysis of bacterial extracts.
