Nicolas Frank studied pharmacy at Saarland University in Saarbrücken. In 2017, he completed his studies with a cooperative diploma thesis at LTS Lohmann Therapie-Systeme AG in Andernach and the HIPS, under the guidance of Prof. Claus-Michael Lehr. The topic of the work was the evaluation of permeation and release processes from transdermal therapeutic systems.
After receiving his license as a pharmacist in 2017, he started his doctoral thesis in the group of Prof. Rolf Müller at HIPS. The aim of his work is the identification and isolation of bioactive natural compounds from myxobacteria and the characterization of their biosynthesis using analytical-chemical approaches and in silico analyses.
