
Janetta Coetzee
About
Jani Coetzee is originally from South Africa. She did her undergraduate degree at the North-West University and obtained her honors degree in 2016. She obtained her Microbiology M.Sc. degree at the University of the Free State in 2018 before venturing to HIPS.
She started with her Ph.D. in June 2019 at the HIPS within the Microbial Natural Products department. Here she conducts microbiology-based research focusing on novel compounds and techniques to discover the mode of action of antibiotic resistance with the hopes to understand and contribute to the combat of antibiotic resistance.
