Emine Erdogan Ozeker

About

Emine Erdogan Ozseker studied biochemistry at Ege University, Turkey. In her bachelor thesis, she worked on “A New Approach to Antimicrobial Products: Tetracycline Immobilized Alginate”. She completed her master thesis in 2019 at Graduate School of Natural and Applied Science, Ege University, Turkey. She focused on “Production, Purification and Application of Antimicrobial Peptides from Microorganisms” in her master thesis. In 2018, she won the scholarship from Study Abroad Program of the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Turkey.

Since 2019, she is working on her PhD project in the Microbial Natural Products department of the HIPS under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rolf Müller. Her PhD project aims to identification and characterization of novel bioactive secondary metabolites from Myxobacteria. Her research focusses on development of new bioactivity screening methods, co-cultivation approaches and identification of biosynthetic gene clusters for anti-gram negative activity via transcriptomics.
