About

Dr. Života Selaković studied chemistry at the University of Belgrade, Serbia, where he obtained his PhD in 2019 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Bogdan A. Šolaja. During work on the thesis, he developed novel small-molecule inhibitors of the Ebola virus in collaboration with USAMRIID. He was then a postdoc in Prof. Dr. Igor Opsenica’s group in Belgrade, where he worked on new methodologies in organic synthesis based on transition metal-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions. In 2022 he joined the research group of Prof. Dr. Anna K. H. Hirsch where he is involved in the design and synthesis of new processivity factor (PF-8) inhibitors as anti-herpesvirus agents.
